The Application of Agricultural Drones

The prevention of diseases and insects of crops mainly depends on agricultural instruments and manual operation. Artificially spraying pesticide can be regarded as the most dangerous and tiring work in field operation. Although farmers have carried out the most painstaking artificial pesticide spraying, but the results are not always paid off. The popularization of drones in various countries has widened their infinite application possibilities: They can be used to block birds, pollinate trees, spray pesticides, investigate snowfall to predict water supply, monitor irrigation or the plant and harvest condition of crops.


What are the advantages of drones?
1. Safety and high efficiency. 

The spraying device width of agricultural drones is 3-4 meters, the operation width is 4-8 meters, and the distance between agricultural drones and crops can be kept at a fixed height of 1-2 meters. The scale operation can reach 80-100 mu per hour, and its efficiency is at least 100 times higher than that of conventional spraying method. The automatic flight control and navigation operation of agricultural drones can reduce the exposure time of staff to pesticides to the greatest extent, so as to ensure their safety.


2. The autonomous work of flight control navigation. 

The application of drone spraying technology is not limited by terrain and height. As long as the drone takes off in the field and sprays pesticides to crops within the flight height, and with the remote control operation and flight control navigation function, it only needs to collect GPS information of crops in farmland before spraying, plans the route and inputs the information to the internal control system of the ground station. When the drone receives the instructions from the ground station, it can carry the spraying device to finish the spraying operation independently, and after that it will fly back to the take-off point automatically. At the same time of spraying operation, the progress of spraying operation can be observed in real time through the display interface of the ground station.


3. High coverage density as well as good prevention and treatment effect. 

The prevention and treatment effect of drone spraying is better than that of traditional spraying method, and this technology can also prevent pesticides from polluting the soil because the rotor wind field of Eagle Brother drones is stable, and the working height is relatively low, when the pesticide droplets are ejected from the sprayer, they are accelerated by the downward airflow of the rotor to form an aerosol flow, which directly increases the penetration of pesticide droplets to crops and reduces the degree of pesticide loss, what is more, the deposition amount and coverage rate of pesticide solution are better than the conventional ones.


4. Water saving, pesticide saving and low cost. 

The drone spraying technology can save at least 50% of the pesticide usage and 90% of water consumption, and greatly reduce the cost of resources. In addition, the fuel consumption of drones is small, the unit operation labor cost is not high, and it is easy to maintain.
