The power system of agriculture drone spraying mainly includes piston engine system and electric power system. The electric power system accounts for the vast majority of agricultural UAVs due to its high energy density, small size, lightweight and easy maintenance.
The electric power system mainly consists of motor, electric regulator, propeller, and battery.

motors can be divided into two types: brush and brushless. In the market, the main type of plant protection UAV is the brushless motor. One end is fixed on the motor seat of the frame arm, and the other end is fixed on the propeller, which produces upward thrust through rotation. The frames of different sizes and loads need to be matched with motors with different specifications and powers. But it does not mean that the bigger the motor, the better. The efficiency is the king.
The single motor cannot work. It needs to cooperate with the electric regulator which is used to control the speed of the motor. Like the motor, the power system with different loads needs to be matched with electric regulators with different specifications. Although there is little influence if the electric regulator is too big, efficiency will not improve with the big heavy electric regulator.
The propeller is a component that directly generates thrust, and the first purpose is to pursue efficiency, too. Matched motors, regulators and propellers can use less power at the same thrust, thus extend the UAV’s flight time. The propeller is in both forward and reverses directions because when the motor drives the propeller to rotate, itself produces a reverse torque which will lead to the frame to rotate in the opposite direction. By rotating a motor forward and rotating a motor in reverse, the counter-torque can be offset by each other, and the direction of the corresponding propeller is reversed.
The batteries of the agriculture drones
in the market are mainly lithium polymer batteries, characterized by high energy density, lightweight, high current resistance, etc. These characteristics are suitable for agricultural drones.
